Siliguri, 27 November: A stir arose in the Sushrutanagar area adjacent to North Bengal Medical College after a heap of garbage caught fire. Local businesspeople and traders were in panic due to the fire.
Locals tried extinguishing the fire but later they had to call the fire department. The fire department hurried towards the site promptly after receiving the news of the incident and doused the fire.
Speaking on the incident, a local businessman said that he suspects that fire was not caused accidentally but on purpose. Much bigger concerns and problems could arise if the fire was not brought under control as a high voltage power transformer is nearby.
