Siliguri, 24th June: After BJP MLA Shikha Chatterjee extended her support to the demand for making North Bengal a separate state, the Trinamool Congress has lodged multiple police complaints against her for disturbing North Bengal.
This time, the TMC activists lodged a complaint against the MLA at the Ashighar outpost. Dabgram-2 TMC Anchal president Kankan Das, Yuva block secretary Gautam Saha and other party workers were present at the programme.
It is to be noted that Alipurduar BJP MP John Barla had recently demanded a separate state for North Bengal. Later, Dabgram-Fulbari MLA Shikha Chatterjee supported the demand, referring to TMC’s hooliganism and deprivation faced by the people in North Bengal.
