Alipurduar, 09th December: Today, BJP’s MLA Manoj Oraon held a press conference at the party office and announced of law-breaking movement by lifting sand from the banks of the Torsa River.
BJP MLA Manoj Oraon said that the entire process of lifting sand from the river is being headed from Nabanna. 14 BJP MLAs from Alipurduar and Cooch Behar will assemble at Palashbari in Alipurduar Block No. 1 on Saturday. During this, excavators and miners will also be present. After which, they will start picking stones and sand from the bank of the river.
At present, the work of the stone miners is shut, and thus cited the reason as to protest against the law.
