Phansidewa, 23rd December: Bidhannagar police detained two stone-laden trucks during a raid on Mahananda Bridge at Muraliganj in Phansidewa block, on Thursday morning.
It has been learned that the trucks were used for the purpose of smuggling stones. Although the drivers managed to escape, the police successfully detained the vehicles. The police initially assumed that the trucks were on the way to Bihar.
Bidhannagar police said that continuous operations will be carried out against illegal sand smuggling.
