Ashok Bhattacharya inspected Siliguri Bhaktinagar area after a woman tested positive for the virus

Siliguri, 28th May: After a woman of Siliguri Bhaktinagar area tested COVID-19 positive yesterday, Chairman of Siliguri Municipal Corporation’s administrative board Ashok Bhattacharya and board member Shankar Ghosh, on Thursday morning, inspected Ward No. 34 Bhaktinagar area and interacted with the local leaders and police officials.


The infected woman, who recently returned from Chennai, was undergoing treatment at North Bengal Medical College-Hospital (NBMCH) for the past few days. Her swab test was done which came back positive and she was then admitted to the Matigara COVID hospital. Following this, barricades were put up around her house in the presence of the police officials.

In this context, Bhattacharya stated that barricades have been put up in the locality, and arrangements are being made so that the poor people in the area are not deprived of food in such a crisis. The ward committee has also been asked to help the locals in case of any difficulty.
