Siliguri, 21st January: Minister Arup Biswas and Goutam Deb met the family of late Koel Barman who lost her life in the horrifying accident at Dhupguri on Tuesday night. They also met her grandparents who were injured in the accident.
Following the instructions of the Chief Minister, the ministers handed over a cheque of 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees to the family and a cheque of 50 thousand rupees to the injured individuals.
It is to recall that at least 13 people lost their lives and 18 were injured in a tragic road accident on the national highway near the Jaldhaka Bridge area of Dhupguri under Jalpaiguri district, on Tuesday night. Unfortunately, Koel lost her life in the incident while her grandparents suffered injuries.
Minister Arup Biswas and Goutam Deb handed over a cheque of 2 lakh 50 thousand rupees to the families of all the 14 deceased individuals. Biswas informed that financial assistance has been provided to all victims. He further assured to meet the injured victims at the hospital.
