Army jawan injured in road accident on Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Flyover in Siliguri

Siliguri, 08th June: An Army jawan was injured in a road accident on the Deshbandhu Chittaranjan Flyover in Siliguri on Monday, creating a stir in the area.

According to reports, the jawan was travelling towards Venus More when his vehicle suddenly developed a mechanical fault in the middle of the flyover. He was reportedly attempting to repair the vehicle himself when the incident occurred.

At that moment, a city auto coming from behind allegedly lost control and rammed into the stranded vehicle.

The Army personnel sustained injuries in the collision, while both vehicles suffered damage. Traffic police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the accident.

The city auto driver, Manik Barman, a resident of Deshbandhupara, said he had been under mental stress after his son was injured during a trip to the hills on Sunday.

He also cited financial concerns and repeated phone calls from fellow drivers as factors that distracted him before the accident.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
