Siliguri, 03rd June: Financial assistance of ₹3,000 under the Annapurna Yojana for women began across West Bengal on Wednesday through a virtual programme held in Siliguri, following the announcement of the Chief Minister.
A virtual event was organised in Siliguri under the initiative of the Darjeeling district administration, with district officials in attendance. BJP councillors also participated in the programme.
According to the district administration, the financial assistance will be transferred in phases to the bank accounts of all eligible women beneficiaries. Officials said the scheme aims to further strengthen the financial independence and self-reliance of women in the state.
During the programme, certificates under the scheme were also distributed to several beneficiaries in Siliguri.
