Alipurduar District Health Department commenced preparations for COVID’s third wave

Alipurduar, 11th June: Experts say that the children are at higher risk of being affected by the third wave of coronavirus which is yet to arrive. Keeping this in mind, the Alipurduar District Health Department has already started preparations.


District CMOH Girish Chandra Bera said the impact of the second wave of the pandemic is comparatively less in the district, however, the third wave is a cause for concern for children. The CMOH added that the number of CCU are being increased in District hospital, Falakata and Birpara hospital. Beds will also be increased in the children’s ward and an oxygen plant will be set up. The proposal has already been sent to the health department.
