Agnimitra Paul visits Siliguri Special Correctional Home to meet the BJP workers

Siliguri, 13th December: Agnimitra Paul, President of Bharatiya Janata Party’s Mahila Morcha (women’s wing), was not allowed to meet the BJP workers at the Siliguri Special Correctional Home on Sunday.


It is to be noted that after BJP’s Uttarkanya campaign on December 7, several BJP activists took to the streets on December 08 in support of the 12-hour bandh called by the party. During the course, they allegedly tore down and burnt the poster of Mamata Banerjee at Mahatma Gandhi more. Following which, they were arrested on various charges including the destruction of government property. They have been taken into 14-day jail custody after being produced before the Siliguri court on December 09. At present, a total of 13 BJP workers have been kept at the special correctional home.

Addressing the media, Paul stated that the home authorities did not allow her to meet the activists as they have been kept in quarantine.
