Birpara, 24th November: An adult leopard was trapped in a cage installed by the forest department in the Gopalpur Tea Estate under the jurisdiction of Birpara police station.
According to reports, on Friday morning, the locals spotted the leopard trapped in the cage in the tea garden. Upon receiving the news, the forest personnel of the Jaldapara Forest Department arrived at the spot and rescued the leopard.
Two days prior, the Madarihat Range of the Forest Department received information about the presence of the leopard. Subsequently, the forest department installed a cage and the leopard was safely trapped.
