Administration tightens security after Egra incident, stored firecrackers in Falakata PS warehouse destroyed

Alipurduar, 27th May: In the wake of the Egra incident, the state police administration has launched a proactive campaign targeting banned firecrackers and illicit manufacturing units. As part of these efforts, a significant quantity of seized firecrackers stored in the warehouse of Falakata police station was destroyed on Saturday, following a court order. 


Today, seized firecrackers were rendered inert as a precautionary measure in a deserted area near the Torsha River under the jurisdiction of Falakata police station. The controlled disposal of the confiscated firecrackers was carried out under the supervision of the bomb squad. District police sources revealed that further operations to deactivate firecrackers stored in various warehouses across the district are also underway.
