Siliguri, 23rd August: Adarsh Sporting Club was declared as the winner and the Junction Star Club as the runners up of the Day-Night Football Tournament which was held in Siliguri’s Ward No. 02 under the initiative of No. 01 Trinamool Yuva Congress Town Committee and Mukta Mancha Kings Club.
A total of 16 teams participated in this tournament. The winning team Adarsh Sporting Club was given the Debashish Memorial Trophy, a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The runner-up team was awarded Rs 30,000 including a trophy.
Also, a match was played between the senior and junior teams of Mukta Mancha Kings Club. In this match, the junior team defeated the senior team by 2-1 goals. The junior team was given a prize of Rs 4,000 by the club.
BoA member Ranjan Sarkar, Town -1 TMYC President Gopal Saha, Ward No. 02 TMYC secretary Shiv Shankar Sonkar, committee member Sachin Das and other members were present at the football match.
