Karandighi, 11th October: A person lost his life in a road accident near the Botolbari bus stand of Karandighi police station in Uttar Dinajpur district. The deceased has been identified as Shiv Shankar Mahato, a resident of the Tungidighi area.
It has been learned that Mahato was coming from Raiganj in his motorcycle, during which, the vehicle lost control and hit a lorry parked at the roadside in the aforementioned area. He, unfortunately, died on the spot.
Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it for an autopsy.
Meanwhile, the accident caused traffic congestion for a while. However, the situation came under control after police intervention.
