ABVP protests in North Bengal University demanding appointment of Vice Chancellor 

Siliguri, 20th March: ABVP protested at North Bengal University demanding the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor at the earliest. Today the members of ABVP reached in front of the administrative building of the university through a rally from Gate No. 2 of the university. After this, a protest was held in front of the administrative building by burning the effigy of the Education Minister.


ABVP had alleged that there is no Vice-Chancellor at North Bengal University. Many posts including Registrar and Finance Officer are lying vacant. He demanded the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor in a transparent manner at the earliest. 

In this regard, ABVP State Secretary Shubhabrata Adhikary said that there is no Vice-Chancellor in the university and also the bus service has been suspended. The students are also not getting food. He further added that the protest will continue until a Vice Chancellor is appointed immediately. They warned to sit on dharna for an indefinite period if the demands are not met.
