Siliguri, 23rd July: The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) raised its voice against the alleged incident of disrobing and assault of two women in Malda. In this regard, on Sunday, the ABVP workers and supporters protested by blocking the road at Hashmi Chowk (Venus More) in Siliguri.
During the protest, the organization demanded strict punishment against the accused involved in the incident and further to ensure the safety of the women of the state. Today, the said protest was undertaken with posters and banners. Reportedly, a clash broke out between the protestors and the police when the former tried to burn an effigy. Later, the members of the organization resorted to demonstrations and condemned the incident.
