Siliguri, 06th October: Many people were swept away by the sudden rise in the water level in the river Mal at Malbazar during idol immersion. 8 people died in the said incident and many others are missing.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the incident through Twitter and announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 02 lakh rupees to the family members of the deceased and Rs 50,000 to the injured.
On the other hand, the Chief Minister of the state, Mamata Banerjee also expressed her grief over the incident and announced to provide Rs 02 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs. 50,000 to the injured.
