Siliguri, 24th January: The officials of the Forest department recovered a 7-foot long python from the Kalamjote area under Matigara-1 Gram Panchayat, today.
It was reported that the villagers were terrified due to the existence of tigers in the forest premises, since the past few days. However, the locals sighted a python, today morning.
The incident was immediately reported to the forest department who reached the spot and rescued the reptile.
The locals stated that the villagers were relieved to some extent after the python was rescued while clearing the bushes.
