61st Foundation Day of North Bengal University celebrated in Siliguri

Siliguri, 01st Novermber: North Bengal University celebrated its 61st Foundation Day. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Professor Omprakash Mishra unfurled the flag of the university through a guard of honour by the security guards of the university this morning. 


Apart from this, wreaths were laid on the idols of Raja Rammohan Roy, Rabindranath Tagore, Bhanu Bhakta, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, and Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose. Later the Vice Chancellor and two invited senior Professors Raghunath Ghosh and Professor Anand Gopal Ghosh commenced the foundation day program by lighting the lamp in the university hall. 


Vice-Chancellor Professor Omprakash Mishra said that in the coming days, statues of Panchanan Verma and Swami Vivekananda will be installed on the premises of the university. Every year this day will be celebrated without giving a university holiday on 01st November. Also, a committee has been constituted for the 250th birth anniversary of Raja Rammohan Roy and his birth anniversary will be celebrated through various programs throughout the year.
