Siliguri, 22nd July: A 29-year-old man died in a tragic road accident in the Ashrampara area of Siliguri on Wednesday morning. The deceased has been identified as Sunny Ghosh, a resident of Ward No. 12 under Siliguri Municipal Corporation.
According to reports, Sunny had gone to his in-laws’ house on his scooty to meet his wife in the morning. After spending some time there, he was returning home when the accident occurred in Ashrampara.
While passing through the area, his scooty reportedly lost control and rammed into an electric pole on the roadside. The impact was severe, leaving the scooty badly damaged and Sunny critically injured.
Local residents immediately rushed him to Siliguri District Hospital, where doctors declared him dead after examination. Family members reached the hospital after receiving information about the incident and were left devastated by the news.
According to family sources, Sunny’s married life had been facing difficulties for some time, with his wife reportedly seeking divorce. However, Sunny was trying to save the relationship and had visited his in-laws’ house that morning in this connection.
Police reached the spot after being informed and seized the damaged scooty. The body has been sent to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination. Police have started an investigation into the incident.
