286 grams of brown sugar seized in Siliguri; one arrested

Siliguri, 24th June: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, the Special Operations Group (SOG) and Siliguri Police jointly arrested a man with a substantial quantity of brown sugar during a raid in the city. The accused has been identified as Littu Das (31), a resident of the Bhola More area.

According to police sources, acting on a tip-off, a joint team of the SOG and Siliguri Police conducted a raid in the Fuleswari Bazar area near Jorapani Bridge. During the operation, a suspicious individual was detained and searched.

During the search, police recovered 286 grams of brown sugar and a mobile phone from his possession. Following the recovery, the accused was arrested and a case was registered against him under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

The accused was produced before the Siliguri court on Wednesday. Police have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
