Bhaktinagar police solves robbery case in few hours of the incident, two arrested

Siliguri, 12th September: The city of Siliguri has been witnessing an increase in crimes like theft and mugging during the time of Puja. In regard to this, Commissioner Gaurav Sharma has strengthened the security system of the city ahead of the Durga Puja. Also, during Puja, Commissioner Gaurav Sharma instructed his police personnel to take strict action against miscreants.


In accordance with the instructions, the cops of Bhakti Nagar police station went undercover and arrested two miscreants. Additionally, out of Rs 29,000 snatched, Rs 14,000 have also been recovered. The alleged accused has been identified as Asit Paul alias Mona and Biju Sarkar. It has been told that the miscreants fled after snatching money from a person named Devesh Karnal in Dashrath Pally area of Ward No. 44 last night.

After this Devesh Karnal lodged a written complaint at the Bhaktinagar police station. Based on the complaint, the undercover police of Bhaktinagar police station, engaged in investigation, solved the whole incident within a few hours and arrested two people on charges of snatch-theft. 


Police are trying to recover the rest of the money as well. The police have registered a case on the charge of snatching both the accused and presented them in Jalpaiguri court today. Police is probing the whole matter.
