Alipurduar, 24th November: The incident of brutal murder in broad daylight created a stir in Khalisamari village of Falakata in Alipurduar district. The deceased has been identified as Ankita Sil (14). She was a 10th standard student.
It has been learned that Ankita’s neighbour Swapan Biswas allegedly attacked her with a sharp weapon when she was on her way to school this morning. She died shortly after the incident. The infuriated locals then vandalized the accused’s house.
Meanwhile, a large police force including the IC of Falakata police station reached the spot after receiving the news. Police have already arrested the accused Swapan Biswas. Besides, six family members of the youth have been detained. Police have started an investigation into the murder.
