Youth beaten to death on suspicion of cow theft at the Indo-Bangladesh border of Rajganj 

Rajganj, 24th August: Sensation prevailed in the area of Barua Para village near Chaulhati on the Indo-Bangladesh border of Rajganj after a youth succumbed to death due to mass beating on suspicions of cow theft. 


Reportedly, a group of thieves entered two houses to steal the cows in the village late Tuesday night. As soon as the villagers came to know of the theft, the gang of thieves escaped and hid in the tea plantation. After which, the villagers surrounded the tea garden and waited to catch them in the morning. When the morning approached the youth tried escaping from them but was caught by the villagers and beaten up. Due to this, the young man died sustaining injuries.

The Rajganj Police Station arrived at the spot shortly after getting the information and took the body into their possession and sent it for post-mortem. However, the identity of the deceased could not be ascertained. The Rajganj police have started an investigation into the incident.
