Youth arrested with narcotic substances and cash worth lakhs in Kharibari’s Panitanki

Kharibari, 10th February: In a recent development, a young man was apprehended with narcotics substances and cash worth lakhs of rupees at the Indo-Nepal border in Kharibari. The arrested accused has been identified as Subhan Alam (24), a resident of Kishanganj.


According to reports, the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) personnel of the 41st Battalion apprehended a four-wheeler in Panitanki of Kharibari. Upon initiating a search, 116 grams of brown sugar, 14 grams of cannabis, 30 bottles of banned cough syrup, and Rs 6 lakh 78 thousand in Indian currency and Rs 80 thousand in Nepali currency were recovered from the youth.

Subsequently, the SSB personnel handed over the accused to Kharibari police. On Saturday, the arrested accused was produced before the Siliguri Division Court. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
