Siliguri, 07th August: Bhakti Nagar Traffic Guard organised a series of awareness programmes on Friday as part of Road Safety Week, including a free eye check-up camp, health check-up camp and road safety awareness activities.
NCC cadets, specially-abled children and students from a school participated in the programme and helped spread awareness about road safety among the public.
As part of the initiative, free helmets were also distributed to riders without helmets to encourage safe riding practices.
A quiz competition was also organised to make the programme more interactive, with participants from different sections of society taking part.
The programme was attended by Siliguri Police Commissioner Syed Waquar Raza, DCP Quazi Samsuddin Ahamed, ADCP Purnima Sherpa and other police officials.
