Siliguri, 05th April: In a recent development, the Matigara police station has arrested a youth with a firearm and two live ammunition. The arrested accused has been identified as Prasanno Bagchi (25), a resident of Indira Pally area in Shiv Mandir.
Reportedly, acting on a tip-off late on Thursday night, the undercover cops of Matigara police station launched an operation near Shiv Mandir railway gate and apprehended Prasanno on the basis of suspicion.
During the subsequent search, a country-made pistol and two live ammunition were recovered from his possession which prompted his arrest. On Friday, the accused has been produced before the Siliguri court, while further investigation is currently underway.
