Jalpaiguri, 14th September: A woman lost her life after being run over by a car in the Nayapara area near Jalpaiguri Jhabari More, on Tuesday.
According to local sources, a small car that was on its way to Jalpaiguri from Haldibari More suddenly lost control and hit a woman who was standing at the roadside. While the woman died on the spot, the car driver managed to escape from the scene.
After the incident, the locals started protesting. Upon receiving the news, the Kotwali police reached the spot, recovered the body, and sent it to the hospital for autopsy.
