Kharibari, 23rd July: In a tragic incident, a 56-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a train near the Dudhgate–Dulal Jote railway tracks in Kharibari on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Dhanmaya Bishwakarma, a resident of Manjay Jote area in Kharibari.
According to reports, she was struck by train number 75707, which was travelling from Radhikapur to Siliguri. Following the incident, local residents informed Panitanki Outpost Police and railway authorities.
Police from Panitanki Outpost and railway officials reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to North Bengal Medical College and Hospital (NBMCH) for post-mortem examination.
Police have started an investigation into the incident.
