Cooch Behar, 12th June: In an unsettling incident, a woman was tragically murdered by her mentally challenged husband in the Jalaljani area of Natabari-II Gram Panchayat in Tufanganj Block No. 01. The deceased woman has been identified as Malti Narayan (45). The accused husband Nabakumar Narayan was arrested after the incident.
As per local and family sources, the accused Nabakumar was suffering from mental instability. The incident unfolded on Wednesday morning when he returned home from the market with meat supplies. As the couple engaged in cleaning the meat, Nabakumar had a sudden outburst and he allegedly struck his wife with a sharp weapon. Tragically, Malti Narayan succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
Upon receiving news of the incident, law enforcement at the Tufanganj police station swiftly arrived at the scene with a significant police force. Subsequently, Nabakumar Narayan was arrested on charges of murder.
