Siliguri, 23rd August: West Bengal State Government Pensioners’ Committee staged a sit-in protest in Siliguri’s Kangchenjunga Stadium in support of nine-point demands which include giving jobs to unemployed youth, and repeal of the new pension law.
Today, various blocks of Darjeeling, Mirik, and Kalimpong districts of hills also joined the protest. The members of the organization told that a memorandum would be submitted to the District Magistrate after the demonstration.
