West Bengal announces revised Covid guidelines; Salons to reopen with 50% capacity

Siliguri, 08th January: Amid rising Covid cases the West Bengal government, on Saturday, announced a partial modification of Covid restrictions imposed in the state from January 03.


As per the revised guidelines, salons and beauty parlours may operate with 50% of seating capacity up to 10 pm. Furthermore, owners and management bodies must ensure that the staff and the customers are fully vaccinated and all Covid protocols, including sanitization of the workplace, are followed.

In an alarming surge, the number of daily COVID-19 cases have increased to 14,022 and active cases to 33,042. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will be attending a virtual meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in this regard tomorrow. West Bengal’s positivity rate stands are 23.17% and fatality rate 1.18%.
