Fulbari, 28th June: Residents of the Badlagach area under Fulbari II Gram Panchayat are facing severe hardship after continuous rainfall left many homes waterlogged, with knee-deep water entering living spaces and disrupting daily life.
Water has inundated every part of several houses, including kitchens and bedrooms, making it difficult for families to carry out routine activities. Residents said children and elderly people are among the worst affected by the situation.
According to reports, the area faces the same problem every monsoon as rainwater accumulates due to the absence of a proper drainage system. Residents alleged that an incomplete drainage project, initiated during the previous government’s tenure, has worsened the situation.
Residents claimed that the drain was never completed, preventing accumulated rainwater from flowing out. As a result, even moderate rainfall leads to widespread waterlogging across the locality.
Demanding immediate intervention, residents have urged the authorities to complete the drainage system, stating that a proper drainage network is essential to provide a permanent solution to the recurring problem.
