Siliguri, 19th May: After a swab collecting glass box was spotted at the Siliguri Ward No. 4 Municipality Primary Health Center, the locals gheraoed the health department officials and staged a protest since Tuesday morning. They claimed that taking such an initiative can easily spread the deadly virus in the locality. Former Councilor Parimal Mitra was also present during the demonstration programme.
Upon receiving the news, the Khalpara outpost police reached the spot shortly after and brought the situation under control. After interacting with the health department officials, they clarified that no outsider will be brought inside the ward premises for the swab test and urged everyone to not create panic.
