Voter suffers eye injury in poll violence in Cooch Behar, sparks concern

Cooch Behar, 19th April: A voter suffers eye injury on his way back after casting his vote at Jamiruddin High School under Chotasalbari area of Sitalkuchi in Cooch Behar. Following the incident, allegations have been raised against Trinamool Congress (TMC) for the incident.


Reportedly, the injured voter Vinod Sarkar was attacked with stones by a few miscreants associated with the TMC. Consequently, he suffered severe eye injuries. After the incident, the injured was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The incident sparked panic among the residents of the area. At present, the police administration is stationed in the area to ensure safety of the voters.
