Voter declared ‘dead’ in electoral records during Lok Sabha polls in Alipurduar

Alipurduar, 19th April: In yet another bizarre turn of events, a voter in Alipurduar learned that he has been declared ‘dead’ on the electoral records.


As per reports, Sunil Saha, a resident of Jateswar under Falakata block in Alipurduar went to cast his vote at the polling booth No. 13/138 on Friday morning. During this, he came to know at the polling station that his name was removed from the voter’s list as he was ‘dead’ according to the electoral records.

Notably, a similar incident also surfaced from Ward No. 34 of Siliguri in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.
