Siliguri, 20th September: In view of the increasing dengue cases in Siliguri, the CPIM No. 2 area committee demonstrated at Borough No. 02 in a unique way alleging disorder of Siliguri Municipal Corporation. Today, CPIM workers and supporters protested by hanging mosquito nets in front of the Borough office.
The protesters alleged that no proper evacuation system, cleaning, spraying bleaching, and fogging are being done in the city on behalf of the SMC. They slammed the SMC of being occupied with the Durga Puja carnival, rallies and meetings and cited this as the reason for their protest at the Borough Office today.
In this regard, Saurabh Sarkar, secretary of CPIM No. 02 area committee, said that they will continue to conduct such campaigns before Durga Puja to ensure the residents of the city get all the services needed.
