Siliguri, 10th April: Sensation prevailed in the area after a dead body of an unidentified person was recovered near the Pancham Mahananda Bridge. Since morning, the locals of the area noticed foul smell coming from the river, and when they went near the bridge, they spotted a dead body afloat in the water.
Acting promptly, the locals informed the police regarding the matter immediately. Upon receiving the news, the police reached the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for an autopsy. Locals suspect that the body might have been washed away from other places. The matter is under investigation by the police.
