Two held for smuggling wild animal body parts in Jalpaiguri

Jalpaiguri, 27th December: Two traffickers were arrested on charges of smuggling body parts of wild animals. The arrested accused have been identified as Sanjay Singh and Sikander Goala. They are residents of Kalchini in Alipurduar district.


Acting on a tip-off, the forest workers of the Gorumara Wildlife Department caught the duo from Telipara in Binnaguri. They were produced at the Jalpaiguri court today.

In this regard, DFO of Gorumara Wildlife Department Anshu Yadav said, “We received a tip-off that the body parts of wild animals were being smuggled. Accordingly, our staff launched operations and caught them red-handed.”
