Siliguri, 15th July: Two youths were arrested with 250 grams of brown sugar during a joint operation by the Special Operation Group (SOG) and NJP Police in Siliguri’s Tinbatti More area late Tuesday night.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Mamon Raja and Kharibul Alam, both residents of Islampur.
According to police sources, the accused allegedly arrived in Siliguri by bus from Islampur carrying 250 grams of brown sugar. They were allegedly waiting at Tinbatti More to sell the substance when the SOG and NJP Police team conducted the operation and arrested them.
Police recovered 250 grams of brown sugar and a mobile phone from their possession. An investigation has been initiated to find out whether any other persons are involved in the alleged network.
