Cooch Behar, 12th February: The Trinamool Congress staged a protest rally and held a public meeting against the National Register of Citizens (NRC) and the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019 (CAA) in Tufanganj today.
The rally commenced from the regulated market in Tufanganj and concluded at the Sub-divisional Sports Association grounds in Tufanganj. After the rally concluded, a meeting was also held in the said venue opposing the LAWS.
North Bengal Development Minister Rabindranath Ghosh, Trinamool Executive President Partha Pratim Roy, Tufanganj Municipality Chairman Ananta Kumar Burma and many other dignitaries were present during the rally. Around 20 thousand activists and supporters of TMC joined the protest march.
