Siliguri, 01st January: With the advent of the new year, the Police launched operations across the city since morning to prevent e-rickshaws (toto) without number plates from plying on the roads. Continuous operations are likely to be carried out in the coming days.
During a press conference in December, State tourism minister Goutam Deb announced that from January 01, 2021, Totos without number plates will be banned on the city’s main roads. Miking was also carried out on behalf of the police in this regard.
Today, the police launched operations in MG More, Sevoke More, and Hill Cart road and detained several totos.
