Tufanganj, 24th December: Sensation prevailed after the body of a Trinamool Congress worker was recovered in the Singimari area of Rampur No. 02 region under Tufanganj Block No. 2. The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Khaleq Miya.
While the TMC activists accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers of killing him, Utpal Das BJP observer of the Tufanganj assembly, denied all allegations and further held ‘conflict’ within TMC activists responsible for the incident.
Meanwhile, the Boxirhat police rushed to the spot after receiving the news of the incident. The TMC workers also gheraoed the police and staged a protest. The police have already recovered the body and sent it for an autopsy. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
