Alipurduar, 28th April: The forest workers of Pana Mobile Range of Buxa Tiger Reserve launched operations and recovered timber worth lakhs of rupees, on Wednesday morning.
As per the report, seven people were smuggling timber on their bicycles through the PMG area of Latabari in Alipurduar district’s Kalchini block, this morning. The forest department, based on a tip-off, launched operations. Upon noticing the forest workers, the smugglers left the bicycles and fled away from the scene. The recovered wood was brought to the Pana range. An investigation has been launched into the incident.
