Three including a Chinese national arrested for attempting to illegally enter India on Indo-Nepal Border in Panitanki

Kharibari, 13th October: In a significant breakthrough, a Chinese national was arrested on the Indo-Nepal border in Panitanki, Kharibari. In addition, two Nepali nationals were also arrested on charges of assisting the Chinese national. The arrested Chinese national has been identified as Li Xiukang, while, the Nepali nationals are Sanjiv Suwal and Chitra Gupta Adhikari.


According to reports, the Chinese national made plans to enter India from Nepal. To execute the plan, the Chinese national arrived at the Panitanki border of Kharibari in a four-wheeler along with the two Nepali nationals.

Upon arrival, as the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) 41st battalion personnel stationed on the border checked the documents, the Chinese national forwarded documents claiming Nepali citizenship. Subsequently, the individual was interrogated and his identity was revealed. Later all three accused were handed over to Kharibari police. On Friday, all the accused were produced before the Siliguri Divisional Court. Currently, the police are engaged in further investigation.
