Three boxers from Siliguri clinch gold in the Dooars Open Boxing Championship

Siliguri, 24th March: Siliguri boxers sweep gold medals in the Dooars Open Boxing Championship organized by the Boxing Development Federation of India. Reportedly, Esha Roy Chowdhury, Ayush Kumar Hela, and Riya Limbu from Siliguri have illuminated the city’s name by winning gold medals.


It has been reported that the championship took place on the 21st and 22nd of this month at Kamakhyaguri High School ground in the Alipurduar district. Athletes from various parts of the country participated in this competition. Seven participants from Siliguri’s Ramakrishna Vyayam Shiksha Sangha took part in the championship. Among them, Esha Roy Chowdhury, Ayush Kumar Hela, and Riya Limbu won gold medals.

Meanwhile, Mayank Hela, Diksha Das, and Gaurav Choudhary won silver medals, while Sayan Pal secured a bronze medal. Coach Sourav Mandal expressed delight on the achievement, stating that the boxers participated in the championship for the first time and achieved excellent results right from the start.
