Third accused involved in a theft case arrested in Siliguri, Rs 25000 recovered

Siliguri, 29th March: In another significant breakthrough, the Pradhan Nagar police station has arrested the third accused in connection to a theft case in a residence. The arrested accused has been identified as MD Arman (22). Additionally, the police also recovered Rs 25,000 in cash.


Earlier, a vacant house located near Nepali School in Ward No. 02 under Pradhan Nagar police station was looted by miscreants on March 24. The miscreants stole gold jewelery and a leather jacket from the house. After the incident, the house owner filed a written complaint at the police station.

During the investigation based on the complaint, the police arrested Shiva Barman on charges of theft on March 26. After interrogation of the accused, a woman named Munni Devi was arrested for buying stolen goods. Later, the police presented both the accused before the court and took them on remand.


Reportedly, following a detailed interrogation of both the arrested accused, the third accused involved in the incident was arrested on Thursday night. In addition, the Police also recovered Rs 25,000 out of the Rs 80,000 stolen cash. On Friday, the police produced the accused in Siliguri court while further investigation is currently underway.
