Tarak Chandra Pal initiates a cycle tour to beat pollution, grandly welcomed by Unique Foundation in Siliguri

Siliguri, 03rd February: Tarak Chandra Pal from North 24 Parganas initiated a cycle tour from Kolkata to Assam and vice-versa to encourage people to reduce pollution.


The 50-year old left Kolkata on December 28 and reached Kaziranga on January 17. The Assam government invited him to Kaziranga to encourage forest workers to conserve the one-horned rhino.

After he reached Siliguri today, the voluntary organization Unique Foundation welcomed him. Shakti Pal, the chief of the organization, felicitated him with a bouquet of flowers in the presence of other members.


Following this, Tarak Chandra Pal explained the importance of planting trees to the common people. Arrangements have been made by the organization to help him stay in Anandamoyee Kalibari for the night. He will leave for Kolkata tomorrow. He further said that he next plans to go on a Ladakh tour.
