Jalpaiguri, 4th January: Sensation prevailed after the agitated public set fire to three vehicles followed by the death of a student in an accident at Jalpaiguri-Siliguri NH-27. The incident took place near the Gol Ghumti area near Mohit Nagar.
According to sources, while heading from Rani Nagar to Mohit Nagar, a student died after being hit by a bus. After this, the locals set the bus of the North Bengal National Transport Bus on fire.
Reportedly, 3 engines of the Jalpaiguri Fire Brigade arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire. A large police force has been deployed at the spot.
