Kharibari, 12th December: The Special Task Force recovered a large quantity of heroin before being smuggled to Nepal. Three persons including a woman were arrested in the incident. The arrested accused have been identified as Pintu Sheikh, Alam Sheikh, residents of Murshidabad, and Jyotsna Mallick from Kharibari.
It has been learned that after receiving a tip-off, STF officials raided the Kalibari area of Batasi and recovered 28 packets of heroin containing a total of 2 kg and 800 grams of heroin.
According to sources, the heroin was intended to be smuggled from Murshidabad to Nepal through Kharibari. The arrested individuals were handed over to Kharibari police. They will be sent to Siliguri court tomorrow.
